Through the commitment of our people, use of technology, monitoring programs, and projects such as waste minimisation, cleaner production and land management initiatives, Alcoa's Point Henry site is highly regarded for its commitment to the environment. Alcoa Point Henry is ISO14001 certified and has strategies in place to reduce its environmental footprint including waste management, land management and water conservation strategies. Recent environmental successes include:
- significant reductions in fluoride emissions,
- development of a partnership to treat and reuse spent pot lining,
- partnerships with Barwon Water and Greening Australia,
- completion of the $89million Carbon Bake Sustainability Project in 2007.

 Moolapio from the Wathaurong language means ‘sandy place of trees’; a partnership initiative of Greening Australia and Alcoa of Australia to conserve, enhance and restore the flora and fauna of Point Henry.
