ALCOA POWERHOUSE CONTROLLER TRAINEES

We have exciting opportunities for Trainee Powerhouse Controllers to join our WA Powerhouses at Kwinana Pinjarra and Wagerup. As a Trainee, you will work to complete an industry designed, employment based 18 month traineeship, which consists of the required theoretical, practical and on the job training.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a nationally recognised High Risk Licence in Advanced Boiler and Turbine operation. A Certificate III within the Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector (Operations) National Training Package will also be offered within the traineeship.
We seek motivated females, males and people from diverse backgrounds with good mechanical and safety aptitude, who have completed education to at least Year 10. Good problem solving and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work in a team environment. You will require flexibility to move between the training and work components of the role, and between working days and possible shiftwork. While initially based at one of our three sites, you may also be required to undertake training and relief operations duties at the other power stations as opportunities arise. Exposure to a heavy industry, operational plant and processes or a power station environment will be an advantage. Some computing skills are also highly desirable.
